Broken Trail's 2009 release "What This Country Needs" was a long time coming! It is the epitomy of country music, combining ballads to downright rockin all in one album!

When you've got a group as talented as these men are how can you go wrong? Two strong voices to share the lead vocal, Mark Medalen and Andy Vance, it can only be a must have album.

Mark Medalen on acoustic and electric guitars, Andy Vance really rocks it on lead guitar! Then you throw in Barry Bernier on drums and percussion, fantastic. Mike Anderson shows us who's boss on bass guitar and Tom Phelps on steel guitar, outstanding. Everyone sharing in the harmonies. You've got the perfect country band! The instrumentation on this album is outstanding!

I've had the very difficult task of choosing three songs to highlight. After listening to them all over and over again (yes i did enjoy every minute of it), I've made my choices.

1. She Likes Bad Boys - This track gets you singin and out of your chair in a hurry! The instrumentation is tight! Rockin! What girl doesn't like a deep sexy vocal, with a little bad boy mixed in for good measure! I love this track!

2. Show Me Where It Hurts - This a beautiful song. You get swept away in the song. The instrumentation on this track is outstanding! The vocal and harmonies... to die for. This track will definately be on your top favs, it's on mine.

3. Country Band - Another rockin one! Who doesn't love a good kickin country tune! This definately qualifies! It's the perfect tune to get ya movin on the dance floor! You'll be two-steppin in a hurry!

If you weren't a country fan before, you will be after you hear this album! It will quickly find it's way into your favorites collection, it's now in mine!
