    Review:
    Unbound

Chris Ferree has released his 3rd Album called Unbound, in 2009. This long awaited album triumphs over anything ever released to date. Chris Ferree and Brad Hord have without a doubt, successfully blended the traditional Native Spirit of music with the modern music world. They touch upon trance, world, jazz, and pop, fusing them with the strong traditional Sacred Flute and Drum.
The track list on Unbound takes us on a journey through time, past and future, meeting within the heartbeat of the drum and flute. Chris is of the Cherokee Nation and makes clear the Red Road for all to follow if only for the length of this album. To those that are of Traditional Spirit, Chris and Brad have shared the wonderful teaching of hope for our future path in this musical world. They bring in piano beautifully. The production and instrumentation is exceptional, pathing the road into contemporary and world music zones.
The Lyrics are strong yet gentle. Chris Ferree delivers the vocals in a direct path to your heart. Showing his amazing talent to capture and hold the listeners attention. He has managed to blend the mind , body and spirit and deliver you into this modern musical production. To the world, they have given the gift of inner peace. We are blessed, The Creator walks with these men, this music. Well done Chris and Brad! You have spoken well for us.

The 3 tracks that call to me were:
    1) Sacrifice - 9th track on this magnificent Album. This song is absolutely incredible. The lyrics touch your heart in many ways. Instrumentation is brilliant. Piano, softly speaking in the background. Chris Ferree sings with such emotion. The Flute slides in and takes you away. The rattle, reminding you of another world, not so far from here.Truely, wonderful.

    2) Healing Tree - This song will hypnotize you. Strong lyrics that take you on a journey with Chris. Vocals are amazing, gentle, mesmerizing. Close your eyes, listen to the layers. A complicated piece, made easy by two gifted musicians.
One of the best songs I've heard in years. Addictive.

    3) Skywalkers - Chris Ferree and Brad Hord sew together trance, traditional flute and drum in a mystical musical fabric. Very modern, very innovative. Hypnotising. Exceptional work on the flute once again. The rhythmic sound of the drum and genius in the melding of them smoothly in production. Another fabulous example of the rare talent and gifts Chris and Brad bring to the table.

As you can see, I have trouble choosing just 3 tracks from Chris Ferree's Unbound Album. All I can say is that the work of Chris Ferree and Brad Hord is not to missed. This is THE album to get for yourself this decade. You will be writing them to say thank you. I know I will. To lovers of World music, I encourage you to hear this album. It will touch your spirit.

On a personal note, I would like to acknowledge the strong Spirit and foresight of Chris Ferree and Brad Hord. I thank you for sharing your heart sound with all of us. You are an inspiration to me and to all our young people of First Nations and Principle Peoples of Turtle Island. (North America) E'Kosi
