I had such difficulty choosing 3 tracks
to single out, there are so many excellent tracks. But here are
just 3:
1) Born in the City of Angels
This track has to be one the best I've heard.
Matt charms his way into our hearts. This is the kind of song you
will have rattling around in your mind 20 years from now. Everyone
will relate to the gorgeous lyrics . This song has the ability to
make you sway in your chair. You will catch yourself smiling! It
is soothing, pleasing to the ear and soul. Backup vocals and instrumentation
is exceptional. Matt's voice will live in your blood stream for
days each time you hear this track.
2) Sitting in a Flat
This upbeat track tells the story of a man
looking back on his life. The arrangement on this track is brilliant.
The sound effects and intruments used are mesmerizing. Matt nails
this one with his very masculine but soothing vocals. Once again
backing vocals are outstanding, showcasing Matt wonderfully. Matt's
songwriting has raised the bar. Reminicent of days gone by when
songs took you on a journey.
3) Sometimes
"Sometimes" digs deep and dirty
into your soul. It has a rock feel with a touch of creole added
for good measure. Close your eyes and be taken inside the gorgeous
intrumentation. Matt makes a home in your blood stream. This is
a tasty songwriting accomplishment, showing just how exceptionally
versitile Matt Muldoon really is. His vocals are addictive and leave
you craving for more!
Hoolymungo easily crosses the lines and blurs the typical genre
boxes. Matt Muldoon has the world at his fingertips. He has it all
going on in this album. There is something for everyone. The end
result will always be, Matt Muldoon's Hollymungo is this years must
